Airborne African Adventures is based in the Klaserie Game Reserve in the Greater Kruger National Park. We offer trike and three axis training. We are accredited by the SA CAA to offer advanced bush flying skills and techniques. Students are often involved in assisting with conservation flying projects such as tracking game with telemetry equipment etc. This is a unique environment to learn to fly in and often one will view elephant and perhaps a large herd of buffalo while training in the circuit. Our training is of a very high standard and we concentrate on one student at a time for personal attention.

Instructors are Bruce McDonald and Gavin Lundie.

Now this sounds lekker. Even if just to learn "bush" skills! I'm assuming the accomodation etc is close by and affordable?

I did my MPL here. Its incredible. Learning to fly over heards of Eles and Buff. Cheetah kill while doing a pre-flight. A great place to learn to fly.

Can we do a fly out to your airfield in the future?I think it would be great to get a few microlights in the air at a nice place like that,and after the flight to "kuier" with pilos in the bush.Are you in uncontrolled airspace?

Just answering on behalf of Bruce. may be easier to call him- not much internet access where he is. The strip is just inside Hoedspruit Military CTR. Nicow give him a call on his cell.

What aeres do they use and how long is the strip?

The strip is approx 1000m gravel from a privare camp called Xanatsi. The GFA for the flight school is limited to an area in the Klaserie Game Reserve. Obviously consideration is excersised when flying over camps and lodges. There are a number of private airstrips in the area and in the Umbabat game reserve. There is not much traffic in the area except for the odd aircraft into Tanda Tula in the Timbavati and obviously the airforce when there are military exercises taking place.
