Hi Boet,
Being a "dubble de-clutch person" in the sticks, let me help you.
The term "civil servant" has been discontinued and allowed to become dormant.
It applied to a bygone era where
officials were civil and provided a service.

I THINK I understand now. You mean, instead of helping the very people responsible for their own daily bread, they are a constant hindrance, and not helping the whole process to go ahead smoothly ??
Afrikaans term for all of the above: n Stok in die speke.

No one in politics at this stage...................it is all about self enrichment and not about passion for caring. I can still remember the days when the cities ......Meyer....... got little remuneration for his services but it was an honourable and respected position..
Nowadays the poor people even have to fill the position of the main clown in their own circus............ and no it is not that I'm that old. It was not to long ago.
