RAASA

Postby Sam » Tue Feb 17, 2009 10:42 am

We are now in the third week of operation of RAASA and we are still getting instructors and pilots using the old CAA forms. Please make sure that you are using the new forms which are available on www.raasa.co.za . We will be accepting the old forms for a short while longer but everybody has to start using the new forms as soon as possible.

Please make sure that you fill in the forms correctly and make sure that you are signing the logbooks with the correct wording. It is not possible to do skills tests and conversions to type "as per the ANRs". The ANRS went out a long time ago. The instructors need to start making an effort to get in line with the new legislation. Part 62 is being applied and if the requirements aren't met, the licence will not be issued. It will prevent frustrations on all sides.

Thanking you in advance for your compliance.

Regards
Rowena

Please remember that you need to do a skills test (the old flight test) and complete the form when sending in your renewal. Just to remind everybody that there is no longer such a thing as a MPL. You will now be issued a NPL in terms of Part 62 with whichever rating is required.

How long will our existing licences be valid, until they expire, is there a cut off date?

Just a word of thanks to RAASA - I battled getting my cheeath and savage rating on my license through the CAA, contacted Rowena @ RAASA and within 2 days everything was sorted and they even converted my MPL to the new NPL. Great service - what a pleasure! (^^)

I had my day with the RAASA girls last week and must say it was quite a pleasant experience. It is a bit further to drive to Rand since I reside on the northern side of the Juksky and I will gladly do it again for the friendly and personnal service they provide and they will throw in a RAASA ball cap when you do your renewal which is more than I ever got from CAA in all the years. Keep it up. (^^) =D*

Also went to RAASA for the first time, to add my Xenon rating. What a pleasant experience. Everyone was pleasant, helpful and a sense of humour prevailed. Oh yes, and the bonus extra, the baseball cap. Well done.
Thanks

Complaining or bragging? Try getting there from PE

The good that is coming out of this - is the saving of not having to use the 'aviation consultants' to walk the paperwork through for you - at RAASA I believe it is a given that your paperwork will be done sans consultants

Hi Rowena.

I am currently flying with a PPL and will continue to do so, but my Bushbaby is reaching completion and will soon take to the skies.
I have the Avid on my licence, but realise that I will have to convert onto the Bushbaby.

What is the process, does my current log book just get endorsed with the type, or am I supposed to obtain a specific licence, different log book etc.

Will my PPl flight test, due September, over ride the requirements as per the RAASA documents above.

Regards.
