CAA "COPS" & BREAKFAST FLYINS

Hi all With regards to the Ramp inspection BS from CAA , Do you recon "Cops" will, at breakfast fly ins :

a) Try their luck inspecting, since they know where and when a lot of us will be, or

b) Stay away because 30 + of us together will be much harder to tackle ?

They don't stay away they have the power at disposal any time they need it so no reason to stay away

Maybe one should just get your things in order and show them that we wish to co-operate! There is nothing that pisses someone off more than when looking for faults and reasons to point fingers and find that all is in order...

Sort of like giving the SARS inspector a one up when no fault is found....

That is true and I will sort out the last three things that I don't have this week, so I will be legal at the Aeroden brekkie on Staurday . One question though, will these inspector's accept defeat, or will they try and harass the complying individual further?

To be quite honest... I think CAA are possibly on the right track for the first time in years. Many of the sections are now being manned by people that have been affiliated with aviation for ages and are active pilots. Had an interesting conversation with one said inspector last week and did not once get the impression that they were out to "get" us... on the contrary I got the feeling that they were trying to be pro active and were willing to gladly assist.

Positive and pro active change comes from two sides though! If we also change our attitude and flood the inspectors with positive vibes then I can't see them being vindictive. What would rather happen is that persistent transgressors such as the oke flying his trike out Port Alfred way will feel spike of the regulations in force!

I agree entirely with Bad Nav and am kind of sad that I missed the inspectors at Morningstar on Saturday because I am convinced that I have everything they require. Even the signalling strips (which thankfully have an insert telling you what the signs on the ground mean since I can never remember them)

If you're legal (licence and ATF) the rest is easy so my attitude is to be compliant and then I can relax and enjoy my hobby.
