Any info on Cradock please

Postby RV Sometime » Thu Feb 12, 2009 9:50 am

I am flying down soon to Cradock to collect my car after repairs. I had heard that the field was dodgy & was actually closed but have not picked up any detail from either easyplan or the aviation directory. Jcvb tells me that some guys flew into Cradock over the december hols.

Can anybody give me info on the field, I will be flying a Cessna 210T.

Can anybody also give me alternate strip info in the area, I can get in & out of a 1000m strip??????????

I landed at Cradock 18months ago with the Jora and one six was a bit rough for the first 100m . The Total petrol station owner (048 881 2787) brought us some fuel,so I would suggest you phone him for a more up to date report on the condition now.

Hi Andre

Just spoke to a guy from Cradock - says the runway is a bit dodgey, better to get someone to drive and check for holes etc.

Alternately, look on easyplan, for Burnside. About 15 km north of Cradock, next to main road, 1500 m, very good condition, private.

Hope that helps!

Waiex getting better, seem to have soved the various teething problems, ie fuel lines, fuel flow meter, jab engine etc. Has been frustrating, but should be running full time now!

Give me a shout when you get down.

Cheers

Larry
