Hi Everyone,

The new Jabiru J120 will be visiting Rhino Park on Wednesday 11 February from around 14:00 =D> =D>

This is a brand new plane and the first one in South Africa, fresh from the factory, the new price is great and I am sure it is going to make a great impact on the market.

If you are interested please visit us for a look and a chat with the local factory representative. I will be taking photos and will post few here for all to see.

Here is a photo and some specs of the J120 shamelessly stolen from the Jabiru web page

Hope to see you there !

Fly safe,
Rudi
PS, no, I do not work for Jabiru or are in any way linked to them, I just love their planes :D

I own a Jabi J160 "Fatboy",(the plane, not me!)and other than the fuel capacity, I would like to know what the real difference between the two models amount to.

Jean from Jabiru will be doing most of it I assume but I am sure some of our instructors will also fly it.

Same here, would love to compare the SP, J160 and the J120. I do not think the differences will be huge but only time will tell.

We might also see a 2 seat J430, similar to the J230 but they are trying to fit it into the new NPL category, will be interesting if they manage.

The one thing I can never understand is Jabiru's numbering/naming system. Makes no logical sense to me.

I understand the 1,2 or 4 as the first digit but the rest...... We had a SP, UL then a 160, 170 and now a 120 ?? At least the 2 and 4 series kind of makes sense

Maybe someone can enlighten us ?

Yup that is my mate Jean,

He put together the Jab that was at Lightflight. ZU- KIM What a build!!!

He brought the J120 into Lightflight on Sunday for Kevin Fuller's wake. He taught Kevin to fly!!!

This plane is going for R350K - All in

That is a bargain!!!!!

It is not looking good for our launch this afternoon !

We have two issues, the runway at Rhino might be a problem if it is too wet, will confirm that just now. If it is too wet we will move the whole thing to Kittyhawk.

The other issue is the plane is in Nelspruit right now and the WX is not looking good for getting it here

I will post any updates as I get them.

Hi Everyone,

I just had confirmation that the plan has been changed due to weather and requests to rather do it on a weekend.

The launch for today (Wednesday) has been canceled, the plane will be brought to Gauteng in the next day or so.

The main event will then be on Saturday 14 February at Kittyhawk. The venue was changed because of the real possibility that the dirt runways at Rhino will be to wet to fly.

The plane will be parked in front of the Kittyhawk clubhouse the whole day for people to look at, doing flights/flips every now and then when needed.

Hope to see you all there and lets hope the weather plays along !!

See you on Saturday,
Regards,
Rudi
