KFA what have you been up to ;-)

Here I was, sitting in my office, browseing Google earth and looked for the Komatipoort airfield.

then something caught my eye and I zoomed in

KFA have you been flight testing again or is this a new single side engine model?

Only saw the post now. He he (^^) What seems to be the trouble officer???? (-) Think it was Mogas doing those short landings. On a serious note, we want to move the Caribou to our hanger and make a clubhouse out of her. Need some tyres. Will post the sizes, maybe someone has an old set lying arround.

Brilliant, now i know where your airfield is KFA. I have often passed that Caribou on the road to the golf club and always wonder what the history behind it is. I think i did read somewhere that it is a vietnam veteran, is that true, and can you enlighten us about it.

cheers,
Dirk

SA Flyer did a whole story about her a couple of months ago. I will look for it. In short, she had a engine out 20 years or so ago and did an emergency landing at FAKP. They removed the faulty engine for repair. The company was a Mozambican co and they went bust during that time. Needless to say, she has been plundered and never repaired. We plan on moving her and making a very nice clubhouse, For now she remains our marker next to the N4. Now, where to find those tyres?????
