I just browsed thru the "Aircraft for sale" section. Seems to me there is more sellers than buyers out there.

Economy is bad - banks won't lend money for toys and the sellers still (understandably) want prime bucks. When the price is good they still seem to go. Sadly not really a sellers market currently and that is for everything - houses, cars bikes etc.etc.

If you got cash, there are some bargains to be had. The Quantum and the Sonex spring to mind.... (Cubby too, but i have slight bias there)

Yip at the mo cash is King, my last car I bought 3 years ago the banks were fighting to give Prime -2 even my quad (they don't even want to look at luxuries now) was -1. Now when I bought my new car best offer was Prime + 1.5. Took more than a week of fighting to stay at -2. They are happy to walk away from good business at the mo. I have financed through them for over 10 years and never missed a payment yet they don't care if I move my business.
Seems coz times are tough people just want to roll over and die. There is plenty out there for anyone who is prepared to fight for their business. All my sales people are doing better then 12 months ago. Yet my inbox is full of cv's from competitors. Everyone still wants everything on a plate.

Ditto. We have not been this busy since 98 when the interest rate was over 20%. Opportunities simply shift and if you don't shift with them you remain behind.... Change is tough, but it the only thing that remains constant. We deal with a couple of the major supermarket groups and all of them are reporting bumper years... Luxuries on the other hand are WAAAAY as the major credit retailers.....

We have found with the quads there are bargains to be had secondhand. Many of the guys are going the Dual sport route so they can still ride offroad but can commute as well.
One of the guys that rides with us just picked up an immaculate FJR1300 super tourer for R60k. Will all the goodies new the bike is worth R140+

Welcome Janie.
There is still planty of money out there but people are not spending it nor businesses. But think about it the property market around Joburg, so Sandton, Fourways etc went crazy prizes were doubling within in 3 years for the same appartment so afcourse there is a lot of air in the market. Remember buy this appartment of plan dp 10 K we finance the rest. Or even better buy 3 appartments dp 30 K and we will sell them with a huge profit when completed the Resell as we all know. Well it worked for a while and you could resell yours with a profit between 10 and 30 percent how real was that? So now we have a correction and my advice safe money put it in your account keep it. If you have credit card debts get rit of it. And start buying the things you want after may 2009 you should have good discounts for cars, planes etc.......
