Enjoying my morning coffee heard the refreshing sound of a 2 stroke rotax. Must have been awesome up there. Next time do a touch and go on the 11th fairway and give a wave so I can get a better pic.
Apologies for the poor quality but was at full zoom and I had to crop right down.
I hope all is still intact at the airfield after yesterday afternoons gale force winds

.
After the 25th I will pop out to go see the airfield.

Flying Regards

Good to hear you will be there. Yes we have wind a lot of the time but not so bad. One hanger collapsed on an aircraft and anothers doors were damaged.

Mossel Bay Airfield
From Mossel Bay:
Travel toward Hartenbos and make your way to the Mall. At main traffic lights at the entrance to the Mall turn left towards the hills. After 3 kms turn left into Klipheuwel Rd. After 900 mtrs turn right into Suikerkan Rd. After 300 mtrs turn left into Nagtegaal Rd. After 1 km turn right at T junction into Rooikat. After 500 mtrs you will arrive at the Mossel Bay Airfield and Clubhouse. Park in the carpark.
By Air:
Please check latest Notams and AIP’s before departure to Mossel Bay Airfield to check for routing and hours of operation. Co-ordinates FAMO:
S340925.0†- E0220341.0 at 526 ft.
Tel: 044 – 698 1315
Freq: App – 124.2 mhz George Atis Freq - 126.625 mhz Familiarize yourself with the area well. Exercise extreme caution on the approach to 09 as there is severe sink on the approach and this can also be experienced just after crossing the threshold. Be alert for traffic crossing from George to the General Flying Area. Be aware of Model Aircraft flying within the circuit to the North of the field abeam Runway 27 threshold. Traffic calls may be heard from Oudtshoorn, intermittent and can cause confusion with regards to circuit traffic, remember their runways are 22 and 04 so listen for the runway headings to confirm if it is a spurious call making its way over the mountains. Calls are more frequently heard when the cloud layer is low eg: 5000 ft Source: George Flight Academy site
