Is there a law that says I HAVE to use Rotax genuine parts or OEM parts supplied by Rotax for that matter, or is aftermarket parts allowable?
For example, the crankshaft oil seals, and many other parts.
Non certified 503, 532, 582 and 618 speaking. 912/914 is another matter.

China, if there isn't one there will be one soon :!: as soon as someone realizes they can make money from it there will be a law  look at your local municipality, you are not allowed to build right onto the perimeter of your property, I think there has to be a 500mm divide,.........................except if you pay R500-00 then they relax the law (**) ## ($$) :?: :!:  Look I'm not complaining I just find it interesting (^^) so the way I see it one of two things will happen, either there is a law, and it can be "relaxed" or there is no law ans we can do as we please.

What parts are we talking about?

Engine, Piston, Rings, Crank. These must be genuine parts IMHO unless you know of an OEM source

Carbs you can get spares at any BMW, Jetski or Rotax distributor.

Electronics. Ignition is Ducati, but it is so specialised I don't know if you can get them anywhere else except the original supplier

OIL and Water coolers/radiators, cheaper to have them made up at Silverton. Forr the 912 Radiator original - R4500, Silverton R575, Oil Cooler rotax, R2500, Silverton, R750

Regulators, Amptronics supply a brilliant OEM version for about R500. Check here http://users.iafrica.com/a/am/amptro/

Plugs are sourced anywhere

Bearings, external to the engine, i.e. on the airframe or belt redrive system, Bearing Man

Cables, accelerator, etc can be made up. Just take a sample

Stainless Steel cables, i.e. wings, or struts or rudder, any yatching place will make them up to your specification if you take them a sample
