Air traffic is increasing below the JHB TMA (Special Rules Area).
The CAA, together with the ATNS, consulted all parties in producing a VFR routing proposal.
Attached file "Proposed VFR Blue Route" contains the background and proposal. the other files depict the area with maps.
Please read the Proposal whilst comparing to the maps at the same time.
The planned implementation for testing of the proposals will follow the first AIRAC cycle (towards the end of January 09)

Proposed VFR Blue Route between Sandton City Tower and Attridgeville (via Kyalami Race Track)

Background
The Johannesburg Special Rules Area Work Group was established to address the safety issues of aircraft operating in the Johannesburg Special Rules Area between the Lanseria CTR, Waterkloof CTR and Swartkop ATZ.

Basically new Special Rules South on 125.65mhz

N12 from South Carltonvillish to Rand, then CTR down N3 and Round past Parys etc. Check pic above.

Blue Route



Just VFR routing from Sandton to Atridgeville, but i think they got N and S confuzzzzed. Currently N 7500ft and S 7000ft. Proposal says N 7000 and S 7500 . On 125.80. If not comply 6500ft. I am usually at below 6500ft in any case. It easier to dodge the woer woers and trikes than the bliks
