Hi nothing fake about this - This happened at one of the practice sessions of the Red Bull Air Race - Fortunately the guy had extraordinary flying skills & a very powerful engine fitted on the aircraft !

Sorry to dissapoint you folks but it is VERY FAKE!!! See debates both here on Microlighters and Avcom. In fact there is an explanation on you tube explaining why it is fake and it has nothing to do with flying skills. Very good computer graphics at the end though.

Well if it is fake (and unlike avcommers i dont think were going to kill each other or debate it to death) - if it is fake the oke needs a job at universal studios, cos that is just incredible CGI ??
Would have liked to believe it real, BUT HEY - who cares, its thurrrrssssday aaaaaannnnd ------- Friday is flyday

There was a 1/3 scale control plane that lost a wing and the pilot landed it, basically did a Knife edge and lowered it to the ground. abut landed on the side. There was damage but was minimised. I think the RC planes would stand a better chance because of the power to weight ratio.
I did a few searches just to check and was definately not recorded by the press, and I have no doubt it would be headline news.
I am not an expert in the matter, but I have landed - 1 wheel

The chap is Bill Hempel...
Go and check out his website :
http://www.billhempel.com He even puts his daughter into his 50% Edge 540 .... He can seriously fly R/C aircraft!
He is also the chap that flew the model twin aircraft that Hughes (Leonardo de Caprio) flew and pranged in the movie The Aviator!
