Satellite Phones as a safety backup

Here's a quick overview for you. We are partners of EVOSAT and as such, we are able to provide specific solutions for specific applications.
The first is ISAT Phone - this is a voice solution. Quite simply, you purchase the ISAT Phone and choose the tariff that suits your usage.
Current handset purchase price: R6,750.00
Tariffs: ISAT Basic @ R144.00 p/m x 12 months (no inclusive airtime); ISAT 120 @ R891.00 p/m x 12 months (includes 120 minutes of airtime)
Call rates: +/- USD 1.00 per minute to fixed or mobile, higher call costs to other Satellite providers.
The purchase price of the device and the call rates will fluctuate according to the exchange rate (ZAR/USD).
On top of ISAT, we have BGAN, which is a solution for voice and data. BGAN is a mobile satellite solution that allows for data speeds of up to 384kbps for browsing and email, and a simple RJ-11 (Telkom) handset can be connected for voice calls. I don't suppose that it would be of marked interest to pilots, however should you require pricing on this, please let me know.
If telephony is your core requirement, ISAT is the solution, and it's an economical one at that
