This is a fake clip.

analysing the video carefully, all the control surfaces are doing right thing, there is a problem with speed at touch down, it seems to be speeded up especially the last second or two and then he slows instantly, I would have expected the plane to carry more speed.
To me the jury is still out. If it is real, then it is the save of the century. Let's open a debate about this one hehe

Good example of computer animation though

This was done with a RC simulator. But the exact same thing happend at a big RC comp a year ago where a 100cc (about 2m wingspan) aerobtic planes left wing panel flew off. The guy kept the plane in knife edge and landed it. Just before touch down you level the wings. He bent the landing gear and broke the prop off. But is was the save of the century. Video is still out there. Will see if I can track it down. Remember with rc the power to weight is so good one can hang a plane on its prop using only 50% power. Not easy but It can be done.

I am not a hotshot stunt pilot, but I do know something about lift and weight and balance. This situation wold be damn marvelous if one wing gives that amount of control. Looking at the situation one would imagine full airelon deflection to counter the lift of the wing, almost full RPM if not full for the torque effect to assist, full rudder deflection, and a pilot with MASSIVE kahunjas.
Also for the aircraft to be able to land one would think extra torque or airelon deflection would be required.
So I find it hard to swallow.

Did you see the brown spot on the seat
This must have been real. With the kind of power under the hood you can prop hang an hover that aircraft home.

Choppie - todays radio controlled aerobatic, 3D planes defies the laws of flight.

That must have been his best landing ever! Use to fly RC planes myself and believe me that took some balls!!!

True, but the RC types have a power to weight ratio second to none and if you want to increase it even more, you can probably get away with it. The real macoy doesn't always have that luxury, and therefore gravity applies (somewhere). I have seen a couple of clips where RC's are doing things that makes my mouth hang open, so The laws of flight and gravity is pretty much ignored by these agile little toys.
