Hi there I'm new here - happened accross this ad & wodering if its a good deal. Also what else i should ask/find out?
It is Windlass trike with an Aquila wing. It has a Rotax 503 engine with 790 hour on it. It needs to be inspected although it is still flying, full history and complete handbooks for the Radio, GPS and engine. It truly is in a very good condition!
Instruments and Price: A compass, Air-speed indicator, Pilot 12 GPS, hour meter and a height and QNH meter. Radio and intercom with two helmets. R25000
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Good buy - 503 is very reliable (just check that it is the dual ignition, dual carb version as SISC version is not that popular...) I currently fly a 503 Windlass.
Depending on how finnicky you are you might need to look at the following once you've bought her:
- New wing material as current will likely be shot if it is 800 hrs old Budget R15k
- New crank at 900 hrs - Might not be necessary depending who your AP is and whether CAA will allow extension - R7500 est. but shop around.
- Check that logbook was kept meticulously
- Make sure plane will satisfy your need. She'll be great at the coast and 1 up on the highveld but you wan't be able to take your heavy buddies up here for a flip.....
This plane new is R140k....

Although the hours are a bit high it is definitaly a bargain
If you spend a few rands on this trike you can get into the air at a low input cost and the 503 wont let you down.
Good luck with your ventures
Brian

Hi,
Confucius says -
"Microlights costing R 25 000 will end in a Quack-up".
Seen 2 movies on this in the Cato Area.

From the bad quality photo the trike looks in a very good condition/well maintained. I would say this is a bargain. I would buy it and before I tell or show anybody else, spray the fibreglass a nice red colour.
Lets us know if you decide to buy it.

Whatever you deside, make sure all the paperwork is available from the seller. Not having every i dottet and t crossed could cost you dearly.
And trying do get copies to papers that is lost or getting a plane without papers back on the system legally is next to impossible. Just be aware!
