Yes !
The Rans S9 and S10 can do aerobatics, the Aviatika 890U can also do most positive G aerobatics, I am sure there will be other models as well.
I have been looking for a S9/10 for a while without luck, might end up importing one, for now I will have to be content with the 890U
Fly safe,
Rudi

Ok, let see....
A 912S ? Yes, I know they have been put into Rans S10's and they are now standard equipment on the 980U. Remember aerobatic capability is more about power to weight than brute power, it could well be that a 582 equipped S9 will outperform a 912S powered plane, I have see that with my S12.
Being able to fly inverted, more a function of the oil/fuel system than the plane, most are strong enough and inverted systems can be fitted.
High rate of climb ? Many planes will do 1000 fpm without a problem, again power to weight and wing design.
The problem with a 2 seater aerobatic plane is weight, you need to make it strong enough to handle at least +6G's -3G's 2 up, it is VERY unlikely that you can do that and stay under the 260kg empty, 450 kg MTOW limits, as it is VERY few 912(S) powered 3-axis planes are actually legal and the ones that are are not the strongest......
Good VNE/cruise ? Should not be a problem, but remember all planes are compromises and if you want speed you might have to sacrifice rate of climb. Actually aerobatic planes are normally not the fastest cruisers, being fast implies being "clean" and a clean plane tends to be so slippery that it becomes difficult to control speed in aerobatics, it becomes all to easy to reach even a high VNE
I think what you are looking for can be done but won't be easy
Fly safe,
Rudi

There is a guy at Fisantekraal that flies a Aerobatic plane!
Does anyone know what that is?

Yes, but not exactly microlights !
The Mushshak (SAAB) is no more aerobatic than the Rans S9/10 and is not equipped (standard) with inverted systems. You don't need brute force for aerobatics, look how much fun you can have in a Tiger Moth
I know there is a Rans S9 based in CT, Morningstar ?

Hey Guys,
Thanks for the info.
Narrowing it down a bit more...
Needs to have one behind each other seating.
Good speed.
Low wing.
4 Stroke engine.
High service ceiling.
Tanks

Hi Rudix,
I know they are not ml's, but they are based at fisantekraal, and thought that trikenut revered to them.
I know the S9, it is in the hanger next to mine. Very nice little aerie. There is an other acrobatic aircraft at morningstar, cant get to the name now, but is has a hirth 3 cylinder engine.
Regards,

Hi Wargames,
Is that not a S10 ? I know there is one in SA with a 3 cylinder Hirth.

Can it be flown with both an MPL and PPL?

Trikenut,
get your dad to bring you to Morning Star on sat morning. There are 2 Rans S10 and 1 S9. You can drool to your hearts content. Then there are big boys like MX2's Extras etc.
As far as the Rans S10 goes you need a fuel system capable of flying upside down. If you use Rotax then you have to replace the carbs with Mikuni constant pressure units. The Red and White S10 has a Hirth 100HP 3 cyl, fuel injected 2-stroke. This engine can and does run in any attitude including upside down.
Yes it can be flown on a MPL as well as a PPL

Was a Rans for sale based in Potch a while back for <R200K IIRC... Think it was S10 (mid wing)
