Whoo Hoo

I just aquired a Bush Baby to park next to my windlass 503.

It is a rebuild which is 99.9% complete and I am hoping to be airborne within 2 weeks.
She has a 2.3 vw engine which I believe is a good motor but only time will tell.
I will keep all interested parties up to date and also post some pictures after doing some branding tomorrow

Enjoy your new airie.

Remember a VW is only as reliable as its cooling.

Good cooling = long engine life

Bad cooling (possibly caused by extended ground runs) = short engine life

This principle applies to all aircooled motors .

Fly safe.

Kind regards,

Gunter Rostek

Hi Boet

I am taking you up on the offer for technical advice.

I Had my BB weighed today at Ferreira aviation and although I have alot of faith in their capabilities it seems that the c of g
is completely out according to an example I got from someone else's BB specs.

My total empty mass is 350.5 kg and the c of g is 487mm aft of datum. Sample BB is 354.4kg with c of g 317mm aft of datum.
Is the fault with me or sample?
Does it make a major difference?
Can I apply for authority according to this weight sheet?
Am i in deep sheet?

I would like to ring you tommorrow if You dont mind

Regards
Brian

Hi Mogas

Thanx for the reply.I am even more confused after speaking to a couple of guys at the hanger today.

The left wheel is 142kg, right wheel 139,5kg and nose wheel 73kg. As mentioned earlier she has a 2.3 vw motor which we started today and she purrrrrs.

What is the max empty weight for mpl?
