Pietermaritzburg Microlighters

Postby pietmeyer » Mon Sep 08, 2008 7:45 pm

Anybody flying in PMB. Will be working in the area on Wednesday 10th September and would like to stop by an airfield just to look arround. Sure beats sitting in the B&B. Rather be looking at some planes.

Thanks

Cato is no more as far as microlights is concerned - suggest that you take a drive to Light Flight, close to Cato, lot of activity and very friendly people, about 20 minute drive from Pietermaritzburg.

Yeah,

Pop into Lightflight. Great bunch of guys there and nice selection of planes. During the week you should see Wayne Bond, Geoff Dyer(owner), Noel or Brad. Grab some coffee and if Mildred is there you can get something to eat as well.

Cheers,

If you are coming from PMB take the Cato Ridge turn off. turn right back over the N3 and travel for exactly 3.5km. The driveway will be on your right hand side. There is a board that says KAMBA FARM and an old white wall with Light Flight written on it. Up the driveway through an avenue of trees and you will find the Hangars at the top. If you have mud flaps on your vehicle drive slowly as there is an Australian Cattle Heeler dog (Shiloh) who loves pulling them off vehicles.

Cheers,

Sorry Wort

Had to be in Dbn by 15h00 so never had time to stop by lightflight. I will be in KZN again early November and then will definitely check out Eva's field as well as Lightflight. Thanks for the invite.
