Microlighters

I am planning on doing my 3 Axis conversion before the new LSP license comes into being on 1 September. Is there anybody that can recommend a school in the Pretoria region, bearing in mind I live close to Wonderboom, that does these types of conversions without costing an arm and a leg and not having to travel hundreds of miles based on the cost of fuel nowadays.

Have a word with Dale de Klerk at Aviators paradise - very close to you. They have tecnams and a pioneer (not sure if thats in the school yet) but will certainly be able to convert you to three axis...

I was anticipating/planning on doing it there as it is less than ten minutes fly time from my patch, ie. Kroon. I am just trying to determine other alternatives as well to have more options. I know that Lutzavia at Wonderboom, which is much closer, do PPL training on the Tecnam but I do not know if they will do the conversion on a MPL. I will contact them as well.

I saw the Pioneer (both of them) in Brits over the weekend at the SAPFA landing champs and seeing these planes and the flamingo up close and flying made up my mind that I need to do the conversion to keep my long term options open...... what great aeries, although maybe not in my price range yet. Maybe one day when the ship arrives.

Don't get me wrong I love my trike and don't plan on getting rid of her, but she does not go long distance with the same comfort as these aries do....velly nice.

Yeah - I hear you. I train from Aviators on my little Bantam so I see the Pioneers and tecnams regularly, SPECTACULAR machines and certainly an addition to the toybox when the dosh allows. For now though I LOVE my little Bantam to death!! Just perfect for my needs... It would make perfect sense for you (and others) to do the conversion while you still can to avoid costly and timely excercises in the future.... so go for it...
