Are you going to support MISASA now?

Hi Guys,
Those that know me, will tell you I sometimes like to stir and bring up the controversial...
So NOW with the new Rotax Maintenance schedule almost approved, extending the mandatory overhaul from 300H to 600H and parts/crank to be re-used if in certain limits, means your pocket gets a +/- R15 K saving.
Are you now going to support the organisations that delivered you the saving?
I challenge you to
sign-up or renew your membership, and
put your name down below as a voice of thanks!
The fees are R220 Aeroclub (Mandatory) and R205 MISASA.
I believe if you take 3rd part insurance through MISASA (instead of going it alone), the saving will almost pay for the membership fee.

PS: This is not sanctioned by MISASA I am posting on my own personal capacity.
PPS: (Edited) the poll will run for 30 days
Regards
Rudi

Thanks Mike, Neil, Niren, Jay, Alex, James and everyone else that submitted their engine information and made this possible.
Keep going strong and fight the owner maintenance issue please!
Reluctant MISASA member at the beginning of the year, a very happy one now!

I don’t use a Rotax engine, but I’m extremely happy for the Rotax flyers. I have been member of MISASA for many years and hopefully will remain one for many years to come, money well spent!
I think the people of MISASA do a sterling job of protecting us from the “would be†killers of our sport. I hope the Rotax issue will encourage more flyers to support MISASA.
I except that they cant please everybody all the time, but that doesn’t mean they’re not always trying to look after our best interest.
Now what about the Light Sport licenses, I’m still waiting patiently ……

Is the membership 12 months from now, or January to Dec?
If the latter is the a pro-data payment program?

I'll see if I can get someone at MISASA to answer, but on the otherhand the MISASA/Aeroclub okes have been working since the beginning of the year while people 'withheld' their membership fees to see what happens, it might just be fair then to renew from the beginning of the year. New members might have a case i think, anycase let's see if I can get someone can answer.

OK I asked, here is the 'official' answer from the treasurer what he is mandated to do:
Newly qualified pilots get a pro rata membership fee for the year! They had no previous benefit of the organisation.
'Old' Pilots, Pilots that have been flying for a while, or had their membership lapsed, you need to pay for the full calendar year, since you enjoyed the benefit of such organisation in place.

Guys R205 a year.... Is it just me or does pro rating at R17.08 a month seem a bit trivial in the bigger scheme of things?

And aeroclub? And 3rd party insurance. Can we get those at pro rata rates?
