Will be doing a flight from Vereeniging area through to a private strip slightly north west of Hoedspruit this Saturday.
There does not seem to be any registered strips on the route we could use as emergency "outs" or for "body breaks"
Anyone out there who can offer any detail of private strips we may be able to utilise en route?

Thanks Demon,
Did pick those up, but they are not on a direct routing as we are planning.
We are looking at Springs, Witbank, Stoffberg, Roosenekal, Burgersfort, over JG Strijdom TUnnel and down over the escarpment.
Any ideas for possible stops on this routing that are not listed in "Airfields of Southern Africa" ?

If you fly the route Demon suggests , its only a 4 nm further than direct---at least you can do a pit$top at leydenburg.

What are you flying-- speed and time for trip?

There is a strip at Steelpoort which is between Roosenekal and Burgersfort, Co-Ords are E30º-07-40, S24º-52-15. It is in the vicinity of the junction Burgersfort/Middelburg, and Lydenburg/Burgersfort road.
Just south/east of Burgersfort, on the Burgersfort/Lydenburg road, approx 10 km, there is a strip, right next to the road, near the Moroni Citrus Packsheds, on the farm of Lood de Jager.
Fly safe,
Dirk ZU-DIG

Why not try Heodspruit civil airfield, its in the little town itself,at the Spar or PicknPay complex, cant miss the little town, and its a gravel runway, about 8/900m long, and there is a board too with Contact numbers. And its also situated next to a Spar and some guest houses,if you guys like to stop.
