Do I need a conversion on every trike manufacturer's trike to fly legally??

Yes, you are licenced to fly a particular make and sometimes model. It has a specific zXXX, i.e. Z011 designation. You can typically fly different engine sizes, i.e. 503 and 582 based planes of the same model

IIRC as soon as the wing size changes and model changes such that the flying characteristics are different it will fall under a different designation

On fixed wing for example the Challenger short wing has a different code to the Challenger long wing. Bush Baby aircraft all have the same designation, eventhough it might be a standard versus explorer frame because the wing length is the same and the flying characteristics are the same

That part I do understand, now the next thing:

Do they class a aircraft frame under a spesific designation, or the wing??

ie. would a windlass and a aerotrike scout, both fitted with the same type wing, lets say aquilla II, have the same designation code?

and second:

would 2 windlass trikes fitted with different wings have different codes??

In Oz we only have "Microlight Pilot Certificate" (this covers every type of trike) then "Passenger Endorsement" then "Cross Country" and finally "Display Pilot"
A trike is also registered for five years with no AP inspections.After five years you can then do your own inspection and it will be registered for a further two years.
Whilst it may sound good it does lead to some very poorly maintained aircraft, with some pilot knowing zero on maintenance.

Ja, there seems to be a few well-known makes still missing from the list, eg
Cheetah, Jora, Hawk, ensovoorts.
Surprised though at some of the interesting names that DO appear on the list

The list is quite old

Everytime there is a deviation from the known configs, they create a new z-code.

I did my training on a Speedbird Delta, code Z106, and on a Windlass code Z127. It's written in my log book, so what now ? Do I get code z106 & z 127 ?

I would guess that you are entitled to the code on which you did your flight test. The other would probably be void, unless there is a conversion done to it, but I stand to be corrected on this one.

In this case it will depend upon what types were applied for on your SPL. If both, they should both be on your lic.

LM
