Version 3 test site - IMPORTANT PLEASE READ AND PARTICIPATE

Postby Morph » Thu Apr 10, 2008 9:12 pm

DarkHelmet has established a test site here is SA on version 3 to see what the performance would be like and access for those who are currently having problems.

Go to http://support.pimpano.co.za/microlighters

remember this is not the live site. We need to test this for performance and accessibility

The performance is awesome! Considering the server is under my desk here ;)

We need to pull across the attachments but the database is HUGE - 150MB just for our shit talk - never mind all the pics.

Please play with the site, post pics - even if it is your dog or your pool...

Some members are having hassles getting onto the site in the present location so fool around at hearts content - you are NOW reading the live site and we will continue testing to resolve the issues we are currently having

ROFL - speed might be great coz we have not transferred everything over - please keep providing feedback in this thread - this board is still the current defacto and we are testing other alternatives!

The other boards can get wiped - the info here is what is needed.

Speed and response fine, but even after loging on I cannot see the picks. :x They display as a white box with the jpg name and red 'X' on the lefthand. Any suggestions ?? I checked on the 'best picks' subject under hangar talk.

We want to know if you have an problems with it, i.e. performance and access. Remmember whatever you put there will be deleted as and when we go live.

Hey, I know very little about web site 'stuff' but the speed makes it much more convenient and it reads awhole lot better.
Gets my vote of confidence and acceptability.

3 problems at present needing resolution

1. My firewall intermittently freezes up after a recent update - ETA for resolution - Saturday Afternoon
2. Not all the data has been transferred - ETA for resolution - unknown - the database is 160MB uncompressed...
3. Not all the pics show - ETA for resolution - unknown - can only see pics online up to the letter G - might be my FTP program

Update on the pics - the current host only allows an FTP client to list 2000 pics - we have more than 2000 in there ;)
