Skidmark has had a look at the crank tester requirements and based on pic one has designed a crank tester for use in any 2 stroke environment.

method
1. remove one plug per piston
2. rotate motor to top dead centre, i.e. the piston must be at the highest spot. Insert a pencil into the hole and measure the movement of the piston until the very top. Then secure the prop somehow to prevent the motor from turning anymore
3. insert the tester and rotate the knob on top of the meter until the pin touches the top of the piston
4. Rotate the front of the gauge and set it to zero
5. pull out the syringe to create a vacuum and thus pull on the piston, bearings and crank.
6. the gauge will measure the movement in 100ths of a mm

The new engine will have a movement of about 0.04mm per piston. The max allowed is 0.08mm

Skidmark can make these for R995

Morph, will the authorities accept this as having the crank inspected?

Seeing that this is a tool that one will only use once in a while, why don’t we club in and buy one as a group. Wat sê die Wintervogel clan daarvan?
