Nice pics. Have a look at the airport on St Martins island, just as scary

Beautiful locations, but, @rse-landing Chinooks aside, how do these approaches differ greatly from normal? I do not know of any airfields I have landed on where an under- or overshoot could not have resulted in my destruction. My instinct, on looking at those runways, is to squirm upright in my seat, body on high alert, set eyes to wide open and concentration and focus levels to 10 - as was suggested by my instructor for all approaches and landings. You have to trust the pilot - he is trying to survive himself.

The choppers on the other hand..... How do you park the rear end on a pinnacle in space without even being able to see what you are doing?!

As the (occasional) passenger, I must say that to hear the phrase...
"These are the times when you really have to trust the pilot "
makes me wonder what I've been doing all the other times?

BTW - Does anyone recall ever flying into the original Hong Kong (Kowloon?) airport? I had a window seat and recall being almost at eye level with little old ladies hanging their laundry on balconies of flats and weaving between high rise buildings to land. I wish I'd had a forward view though.

Landing with Sir Demon at Rietfontein is fun, especially on the shorter strip (I am sure there is a more technical term but it escapes me now). I am sure he could land the GT on a tickie

Depends from which angle you look at it, maybe you looked at it width wise

Ahhh, the good old chequer board approach into Kai Tak. Did that plenty times in the good old classic 747.
