Hi guys,
I would like some advice on which personal equipment I should buy and from who?
I want to get my own flightsuite, helmet and headset, to start with. Any suggestions on products that I should avoid and what else would you suggest I get?

Tracer,
I was in the same boat as you about 6 months ago. Had the license, but no plane or equipment. I ended buying 2 helmets from Buzzcom (excellent product) at R1k each.
When I finally bought a trike, it came with Helmets and headsets. If I were you I'd definitely buy the flightsuits, but rather wait with the rest, as trikes are often sold with the necessary Helmets and Headsets.
If not, you can buy what you need from Larry at Buzzcom, in Edenvale.
Flightsuits - I got mine from Icarus, also in Edenvale at R1,000 - R1,200 each.

Guzz, I had a look at the Icarus flight suites and they look great, I already decided on the colours I want

.
It is a good point you have, with regard to the headset and helmet. I think I may just look at buying a helmet and use the schools headsets for now.

Reverse position for me. Have trike with ALL equipment (only no helmets) and still must do my MPL. Normally trike deals includes most of the needed equipment.
Only need one more helmet and gloves. Hands are freezing when flying. Flightsuit will see if it get cold enough.

I'm still learning to fly and don't have a trike, yet, but I guess it never to soon to start getting your own stuff

Most trikes are sold with at least an intercom system and probably headsets and helmets as well. So wait before you rush out and buy.
You could get your own flight suit in the meantime...the flying school ones are usually well worn.
Good luck.

If you gonna buy an intercom and headsets/helmets dont buy anything until you have tested "Air magic" stuff. Everything ZULU1 makes is great.
You wont be sorry!
