ZU-DoVE incident

Postby gertcoetzee » Sun Feb 24, 2008 4:06 pm

This morning ZU-DoVE was involved in an incident.

ZU-DoVE is a microlight, weighing less than 450g all-up. It is not known whether ZU-DoVE has a valid ATF.

Whilst flying over the suburb of Tamboerskloof ZU-DoVE lost altitude and flew into a building, causing minor damage (see pictures). After a brief moment of unconsiousness, the pilot recovered and managed to divert to un unknown destination.

It appears that the incident was not due to any structural or enjin failure (despite the crank not being replaced) but purely because of pilot error.

His last thought was his BUTT.
We have many of those here at UNISA, with that mirror film on the windows we often get bird strikes.
