Hi all,

I am not sure if this was discussed before, but can a MPL charge pax for fun flips?

No, only instructors can charge for flips. They are looking at changing the law to allow for commercial use of a microlight, (Part 96 I think). This could entail a very stringent maintenance requirement for the aircraft plus the requirement of a commercial rating on the pilot

You are however welcome to take pax's for flips if you are fully licenced (mpl) and by mutual consent. There's no harm in them buying you a beer afterwards or fuel or biltong or invite you to a braai etc as a goodwill gesture of course.

Part 62 & 96 promulgated on 1 Jan, but the problem is too many references to the CATS in particular SA-CATS-FCL 62. So once again more regulations in place without the technical detail required to comply.

If instructor you would need also an Air Services licence and an ATO licence. Only the former if flipping and not training.
