Not to someone who's used to screwing people over. You're giving them months, if not years to stretch.
Have your paper trail in order.
Circulate to his partner, suppliers, customers and golf partners.
Go to his house, preferbly when his wife's there and demand settlement. Chances are, she does'nt know or will pressure him.
If that fails, pay a rubble remover to tip 6 cubes of rubble closing his gate, tell said rubble remover he can charge 2 grand to remove.
Put his name and company here as a 'reccommended supplier'.

Have some one with a zulu accent call him and arrange a meeting
at some secluded spot to discuss the settlement .
Alternatively, put a big sticker on a brieftcase wich reads
"bad debt collector",
take a flasc of coffe and some samies, and camp in his reception area,
be sure to place the briefcase in full fiew of anyone entering the door.

Keep them rolling... going to do something trust me before the end of next week. Like the briefcase with the 6 m2 of rubble ...mooi! :D My thoughts have been a little more drastic...after a couple of beers WORSE!

Or, tell your staff there's a change of plan.
Mr XYZ has their Xmas bonus and will pay them out at the following address and because of the inconvenience, they've been invited, with their extended family, to join Mr XYZ at his residence for Chistmas lunch.

Often, guys who tend to take a long time to pay just don't give a toss for how you are struggling, and will keep the money for as long as they can.
However, they do tend to be self-made men with huge egos, so you can hit him where it hurts, without going the legal route.
Just find him in a very public place (like at a nice restaurant, having dinner with his wife/gf and some friends) walk up with a smile on your face, and ask in a loud, clear voice, if he intends to pay his bills sometime, since yours is already 60/90/120 days outstanding? He will start to bluster, and may even get aggressive, but then you can just walk away, only to do it again about 2 days later.
You could also put an ad in the local paper, stating that your bill has been outstanding for so long, and that you have been very patient with him, but now you also need the money. Advise him that you are now considering further action! The ad must be 1/4 page or bigger, in the main body of the paper to get his attention. Just make sure that all your ducks are in a row before you start this.
Good luck. Let us know how it goes.

I think he may have done that with his staff. I managed to cover my a...e on that score. It's the end of the month that scares me. It just murders the cash flow.......

Debt

Skidmark,
This worked quite a few times for me.
I have off load some trusty workers with tents on the pavement where the oustanding debt live. First the wife and the kids want to know what is going on, and they are being told that their salaries is not paid because hubby is not paying. Outstanding debt normally arrives withing 10 mins of wife`s call, demading what is going on and being told by the workers that they are not paid because of his outstanding debt.
Debt is settled promptly.
At the worst outsatnding debt ignored all, but in the morning seeing pee and shit on his pavement he quickly settle.
Once an outstanding debt phone the police, who could do nothing as the pavement is public land and hearing the workers story sided with them. Debt paid in three days.
Please ensure that your side is in order, having copies of all notices, etc.

Geez youn are such a bunch of nice guys you will never get the money. Kick his front door down and give him 5 min. to get the cash or you are going to take his wifes knees out with a baseball bat. Have you guys never debt collected before. And make sure he is so scared of repurcussions that he will never dare go near the cops or lawyers.

Hi Everyone
Had the same problem before. Waited outside his house till he came home one evening. As he went in i approched him and pushed into the house and sat at the kitchen table and demanded my money. When the wife asked him about things he wrote me a cheque there and then. He also owed another contractor some money so the guy paid a prostitute to go to his office and "e demand my money"well he also got settled very quickly.
Good luck
