Prieska - All Africa Record!!

Postby lamercyfly » Sat Dec 08, 2007 11:29 am

Today, Friday 7th December, Tony set an All Africa Record in his ATOS hang glider. These guys don't give a shait about FAI. They just fly for the hang of it, so no application for ratification will be made:):):)

I towed him aloft, out of Prieska airfield, and he set off on a Tri-Angle flight, arriving back at Prieska Airfield at approx 6.30pm. After 7h30minutes of flying, his straight line tri-angle flight measured 262.7km. The actual track shows a flight in excess of 300km's!!!

He topped out at some 4200m ASL, and had a final glide in excess of 30km, arriving overhead Prieska at 400m AGL..

"Great flight", was all he had to say :):)

Over the next week we are looking to get in excess of 500km in a straight line flight.........I've got met data coming out my ears :):)

Cheers.
