Gr8-dad is urgently looking for a pilot to ferry his Bushbaby from Nooitgedagcht (Clanwilliam) in the Western Cape up to the BB factory in Bronkhorstspruit. Nice all expenses paid flight in a 912s based BB

RV4ker, why not come do your conversion with Johan Froneman at Saldanha and fly the plane back for him? Nice preperation for "the animal"  8)

Connecting flights and expenses will be covered

Waaaay ahead of you.   Have spoken to boss already. Problem is he takes leave from 12 dec and I need to be around (On call - Excuse to fly RV    ) to clean up the RDP shopping mess (roofs that have been cut open only to find concrete slab over safe) that always comes around this time of year.

Couple questions:
Can I fly it on PPL as I am told my MPL has expired? (Still don't fully understand but Nou Ja)
Does it have a transponder? (For FAKM)
Mogas or Avgas?
When does it need to be done? I may be able to take 3 days off in next 2 weeks to do it. Can't do after 19th. (mmmm... Possibly do a bonding trip with one of my flieg bedonered lighties. He going through a rough patch at the moment...   ) Sounds like a plan.

Let me know when they wanna do it and if insurance will let me drive it 650nm with only couple hrs on type    .

PS
I will pay for my lighty if he can come along.

PPS
What sort of range does she have (REALISTICALLY - I have read the book, but what do you guys who see her actually get bearing mind the beeg rocks in the way)? Assuming 18litres/hr that would give around 5hrs + 30 min reserve) so max 500miles per hop? Does this sound realistic? I think it would take about 8hrs fly time so 2 days seems realistic?

I am thinking Fly down to CT on Cheapie Schedule, get to aerie, do convex and then do the short hop Nooitgedagcht - Loerries to check the beast's progress and if possible crash with oom Boet for the night, then to FAVB (as I have sleeping place and fuel there) and then to big smoke to drop aerie. Any thoughts from the long distance MPL boys? (The additional time vs direct from Nooitgedagcht to FAKM (sleep over) and then on to Big Smoke next day is marginal)?

To put this in perspective - I have done a couple longish trips, but in the RV a long trip like this would take in region of 3h45min vs the planned 7H57min

Mogas or Avgas? - Both

I will pay for my lighty if he can come along. - Should be no problem

True, but see this as an adventure   8)

BTW, I am prepared to pick you up at FACT and transport you up to Nooitgedacht, plus I am happy to fly you over to Saldanha for the convex.

Thanks very much,

I have sent all your email addresses to Gr8-dad and he will contact you

PS he cannot access the web from work and his home line is atrocious which is why he is offline at the moment

Thanks Morph.

Agreed on the adventure. Even more so if my lighty can make it. Everything on my side is sorted, just waiting for GR8 Dad....

Can do it next week or at a push 19/20 Dec.

Looks like it is on. My coke pilot is briefed and can't sleep. (Pic below)

Looks like will be on Green Cucumber down to Slaapstad and then weave our way back to Big smoke over next 3-4 days. Convex Sun, then Sleep with Oom Boet on Monday, Tues long haul to FAVB to do some work. Wed/Thurs to Babps for delivery.... Just awaiting confirmation of logistics to book ticket.

Morph
Please call me a line when you get a chance to discuss.
ohh ate two 882 37 fifty five

I have lined up Johan Froneman, but i am confused as to logistics of getting from CT to CMY and then to Johan? They all seem very far apart?
