I took a flight yesturday on SA054 from JHB to Luanda on ZS-SAK, one of SAA`s 747 fleet........ i believe it was the last 747 flight for SAA in line with their new strategies,......... what a loss it will be to the skies to no longer witness and fly in the 747`s for SAA

Hi there ICEMAN,I see you from Benoni as well

Its a coincidence, cause on Saturday 27th Oct I went to se my brother of as they flew with Kulula.com B737-400 from Johannesburg to Durban. But before their departure,I witness an arrival flight of a SAA B747-400,before docking at the gate, got sprayed with two fire trucks,my first impression was that it could have been Captain arriving after his last flight before retirement. But now that you mention this, made me think otherwise,so I guess that time has finally arrived for these beautiful Jumbo's to say goodbye

Yes very sad indeed - I query the so-called "strategy". I also saw a 747 (Classic ??) parked next to Denel - the multicoloured one that was done up for the Qlympic Games in Atlanta years ago, going vrot in the sun. Ah well.................
