Mmmm ... how interesting to be seen as Tupperware. I thought that these days they reserved all tupperware for under the bonnets of BMW's, Merc's etc for that's all I see under the bonnet - being an old "Tupperware lad" it is one of the joys of a Rotax ie actually seeing a carb etc.
So having being called a Tupperware I decided to be deserving and have just copied my SAMicro post below > remember to take the lid off > it's what keeps the message fresh!
Firstly - A big Thank You is suggested
Anyone who has served on the committee of any voluntary organization will know that it is a difficult job at the best of times. To be the treasurer means that you carry the full load of being responsible and accountable. Then, just to top it up you also have the reporting responsibility. At this time I urge you to stand back and ask yourself what should you do about the Aero Club changes? After 5 years of dedicated service and for being a microlight flag bearer during this time I recommend that you clog this website with messages of thanks to Duif for 5 years of service. I will post one after this post and you can, if you are busy simply also say – Thank You Duif.
Secondly - What about Duif’s free time?
Duif, it would seem that some find you, shall we say, a challenge. To my mind having two people in a room always agreeing means that you definitely do not need one of them! Anyway, as you know, I was the editor of Microflight Africa largely as I was (and remain) terrified of treasurer positions in voluntary organizations as years of experience have taught me that working as treasurer for a committee of bosses simply does not give me my jollies and I try to reserve my free time for jollies. The Mag was not hard but it was a tough job to get content in, on time all the time but it certainly gave me my jollies. I have agreed to manage the MISASA website. I believe that it is a similar job to the Mag and success will again depend on generating content. It should, in my opinion, serve different purposes including:
- be a yellow pages to microlight pilots
- a reference library for governing legislation / regulation / association guidelines etc.
- a reference library of committee minutes
- be an introduction to - what is microlighting – how to - where do you go - etc to the nosey aspirant pilot thinking of flying
- be a reference site to other exciting and or relevant sites such as members photo sites, training school websites, international flying related websites etc
- PLEASE ADD TO THIS LIST
-
Anyway Duif and anyone else that is interested – please come on board and be a contribution, feel free to disagree always if you like for it would be great to have an active debate on what the website should become. If you or anyone else is keen please respond to this mail and I will set up a meeting at a suitable time and date where we can sit together in a boardroom with a live link to the site and discuss enhancing this communication channel. This will be in Jhb but anyone that registers their interest can send me an email at alanmack@iafrica.com and if you wish to talk to this meeting we will phone you on a speaker phone. I will podcast the meeting audio track and send you a copy if you register your interest and are not present.

Next from the world of Tupperware!
Ok > Why do people who live in the shadow of the mountain grow up shy?
Just kidding > Thank you Mr Shy for the call > Misasa I’m sure does love the WC
So
I will come to Cape Town on 9 November (at my own cost) for a MISASA Website meeting:
Please respond with your interest in this meeting to this website:
Plus is someone interested in hosting the meeting/discussion?
We can hold it at my sister’s home in Blouberg, I can arrange a venue at UCT, or in a building close to Parliament – please indicate your preference when you respond.
Fly safe
Alan
