Challengers!!

How many active Challenger flyers out there? I'm really interested.....I see there's a Windlass club brewing! Maybe we can get as many Challengers in at a flyin oneday?! Could be food for thought.....

Hi Guys !
I managed to get a flip in one recently while on business in Canada, it was magic ! A 1 hour flight I will never forget over stunning landscapes.
I was impressed with how easy the plane was to fly, easier than some other planes I have been in and it felt very stable.
It was the long wing version powered by a 582.

I see your from Pretoria - My short wing Challenger 2 is based at Rhino Patk, your welcome to have a flip ?

Hi Dish,
Thanks ! That will be great, I would like to compare the short and long wing versions.
Yes, I know Rhino Park, have flown from there with Rudi and I hope to hangar there as well in the future.

Cant go wrong with Rhino, very good bunch of guys, all passionate about flying..
I have flown in Both the long and short wing and to be honest I (personal opinion) LOVE the short wing... its really quick, turns on a dime and is very very nippy.... The long wing is also great, it is just a lot slower and less reactive, ie, everything happens just a little slower.. Its still awesome though, its just that the two have very different flight characteristics...
Im still doing my license, so will have to arrange that you take a flip with the destructor, but that should be fine (probably better)...
what do you fly at the moment

I agree with Rhino, I know at least one person there already and it is also closest for me from home.
That is very similar to what the guy in Canada told me, he said the only advantage of the long wing version is that you can switch of the engine and do a bit of soaring, something he demonstrated to me.
I must still start my license, I had a problem with my medical (ears) but that is now sorted and the plan is to start soon. I have done quite a bit of flying with Rudi and even a few landings myself. If he was an instructor I would have trained with him but I need to find someone.
I am looking at buying a plane, so far a Bushbaby or Kitfox are options but the other option is to buy a plane with Rudi and then share a plane or 2 with him. We will see.
