Hi Guys,
Just wanted to check what each of you spend on a monthly basis on your trikes, excluding hangarage, premiums and insurance? Basically fuel and maintenance costs? I know it depends on how often you fly, but just to get an idea. I've just put in an offer on a trike and would like to work out what I'll be needing to spend from now on.
Thanks

Interesting subject.
GOLDEN RULE - Don't tell your wife, simple as that - Then it don't matter :D :D See if your wife knew that your petrol bill (flying) is more than your Diesel bill (going to work and mates) and you commute 120km a day to work and back - She might have been angry, BUT - She does not know and everyone is happy :D
Yes? :D

Get a petrol car then...or budget for 40 hours and only do 10-20 that way you always below budget.
Personally I budget around R1500pm.

Work on about 15l of feul Plus 2- stroke depending on what you fly. Then hourly rate for maintenance, Hangerage 300-700 per month, Insurance and finance charges.
Is that vague enough? With cost amortised probably R400 - R500 per hour wet.

Cost is of minor significance when it comes to flying trikes!

Thanks chaps,
I've budgeted between R1500 and R2000 per month for fuel and the odd spares. Should be enough then?
Hangarage, insurance and finances out of the equation...
I thinking asking the sweetness to pay for the fuel when I take her for a flip is only fair!
Then she can fly with me every weekend!

I'm with BigD on this one - for every rand I spend the wife-ie spends 3, with not even a hint of sweat......
If you attend fly-inns, add according to your level of thirst
