How often must i do a fly test to keep licence valid ?

My licence expiry date is 01/10/2007 subject to a relevant valid medical. Must I make an appointment with an instructor to do a fly test at the same time

Yes. You are due for a flight test one year after the issue of your licence. However, I'm not sure if its only after the first year of having a licence or every year thereafter.

Thanks demon : I have MPL and flew 26 hours in past 11 months , so that means no fly test !!

YOu only need 3 hours, but this is too little IMHO

From 1 Jan 2008 for weight shift:
62.05.10 The holder of a class rating for weight-shift controlled
microlight aeroplanes shall not act as pilot-in-command of a weight-shift
controlled microlight aeroplane:
(a) unless he or she -
(i) has acted as pilot-in-command of a weight-shift
controlled microlight aeroplane for a minimum of 5 hours
in the 12 months immediately preceding the intended
flight. Such minimum flight time may include flights
undertaken by the pilot whilst receiving training
appropriate to the type of weight-shift controlled
microlight aeroplane; or
(ii) has passed a practical flight test with an appropriately
rated flying instructor within the three months
immediately preceding the intended flight; and
(b) if transporting a passenger, unless he or she has, within the 90
days immediately preceding the flight on which such passenger is
to be transported, executed not less than three take-offs and
three landings in a weight-shift controlled microlight aeroplane.
