Winters' cool - sometimes

Going past Microland this morning at 6:30 - 10 min before sunrise - saw two trikes in the circuit, someone just getting airborne, a trike on the holding point, one being warmed up in front of the hanger and another trike standing around, bored to death with no-one close to it. Looking at my cars thermometer - 7 degrees C - I thought it was quite cold, but it is cooking around Microland. Anyone we know ??

Going past Petit 10 mins later saw two trikes and a fixed wing in the air - nice flying. Took this shabby pic with the cellphone - while driving

Getting airborne round about 7:30 I found out what it was all about - absolute perfect flying weather - silky smooth - like gliding on ice 8) and the visibility was really good - could count the jumbos on the FAJS's holding point from Brakpan :D - as soon as you get on top of the mandela microwaves' smog, lying at about 50-100 ft.

I remembered my intro flight in a Gyro - within 5 days - exactly a year ago. 15 May - mothersday - the exact same smooth weather, and I was hooked on flying.
