Hi folk.
Seems ol' Bennie is going to enjoy this one. Bet you never slept last night hey Bennie
Don't worry, I have flown up to Jozies in trikes about 12 times, and I have flown PPL from Durbs to Jozies a lot of times as well. I did my PPL at Rand, so know the airspace O.K. to survive

I am pretty fortunate in that I have flown the Cape Town SRA a number of times as well, so am pretty comfortable anywhere in SA airspace.
Anyway, just to let you guys know what route we will take, it will most probably be as follows:
La Mercy - Tugela Ferry - Dundee - Newcastle (full stop, pick up Bennie and refuel).
Newcastel - Standerton - Springs(full stop for fuel and chat to the guys at Rainbow and show them the Cobra).
Springs - Pettite(full stop to chat to Genya and show him the Cobra).
Pettite - Bapsfontein - Microland(full stop if there is anyone there otherwise route direct Pinedene Transit. For this I will do the usual which is direct pinedene station then onto the Ultra-city then onto Hartebeespoort Dam). I have flown this transit route many, many times. About Radio frequencies in the area, Bliksem, after reading a post elswhere on this forum, I think that what is going on up there is serious kak. I will share my thoughts on this on a new thread . But yeah, eye's wide open, and fly outside the cockpit!!
Microland(if we stopped there) - Hoogland Health Hydro(Abe's spot: as per Pinedene Transit) then onto Kroon Airfield via the Red and White Mast on the Magaliesberg Range.
Total flying time in the region of 6 hours. It normally takes me about 4h45 to get to springs.
On the return journey we will route as follows:
Kroon - Wonderboom(remaining along the North of the Ridge) - then onto Boris Benic Witbank (full stop for fuel and a chat)
Boris Benic - kinda direct Volksrust - then onto Newcastle.
Newcastle I'll be riding the jump seat with Brett Hill, who is coming along with us just for the experience (fresh MPL student of mine), back to Durbs.
All-in-all, a great learning curve for both Bennie and Brett, and one which I hope will make Bennie get over his 'nerves', and start enjoying this beautiful sport we love so much.
This plane that Bennie bought is the same Safari I flew in the SA Champs last year. You can see it on this forum, under aircraft for sale. REG ZU CIF (posted by FF)
The cobra that I am ferrying up to Jozies is also on that page. It is a stunning machine, and can now be purchased for as little as R145 000!!!!
An absolute pearly of a purchase, at R50 000 less than a brand new one. This cobra has only got 184hours. I cannot sell it down in sleepy Durbs (no money here

), so I am taking it up to where the 'gold' is. So, if any of you guys knows of a buddy looking to buy a very, very lekka aerie, please tell them about this Cobra and get in touch with me.
Talk later,
