It is worthless without you. The aim is to share information with other pilots : you profit from the information they gave whereas you give them info about an airfield you know well. Using euroVFR is free. This site has been used for several years in France where it is quite successful.
It will be useful if you make it useful. All you need is 5 minutes. Two ways to achieve this:
- Many airfields or airstrips still have temporary names in the database. You can see a list of these temporary named airfields here ( http://nav3000.free.fr/moteur/SA_unknown.php ) and mail me the real names of some of them if you know them.
- Feed data into an airfield card (yours, for exemple). To do this, you simply search the airfield, display its card and then use the 'update' button at the bottom of the card. A form will then enable you to add or update data. (Data include runways, frequencies, but also gas availability, taxes, whether or not there is a restaurant, a workshop, accomodation.... on the airfield or in the vicinity.) Since many airfields still have temporary names, maybe you could see the list above to try and find the temporary name of your airfield. This unconveniency will disappear as soon as the real names have been given.
Feeding data, especially now, involves devoted people because there is not much airfield information to get from the site as a reward. Many thanks to these people. Will you be one of them?
