Do we have any Chemists on this forum ??

Hiya all, as some may know we have been making visor bibs for a while.

All is well BUT they now create an additional problem..they steam up on the runway !!

I brought some visor "anti mist aerosol" in from the UK which works well, now I would like to make our own brand and sell locally..I dont have the faintest idea where to start, but I have access to a aerosol filling plant in Tongaat.

Do we have any chemists who could possibly help with the correct mixture ?? They would be suitably rewarded with some toys or whatever..even a point in the right direction will help..

Thanks Paul

Easiest way is to wipe off the visors using shaving cream.

Perfect on shower glass too if you really want to know what's going on on the other side.

If you're having your own moulded, you could enquire from the raw material suppliers as to any additive in the mix (similar to algae inhibitors)
(Do the leg work and not leave it to your moulder, moslty could'nt give a toss)

Contact the Plastics Federation, or if you really want to spend some bucks contact the CSIR. They have a very clued up Polymers Dept and could mix master batches.

Contact if you're interested.

P.s. You don't have too much time to solve :)

Hi,

Believe it or not, but I use the good old Colgate shampoo on my car windows, it works like a dream, put some shampoo on a dust cloth and rub it in, your window does not mist up for a long time.

I use the Bib as well and is awesome, C-thru for car windscreens also stops the mist.

I also use C-thru to wash the inside and outside of the visor and works really great when there is a bit of moisture in the air.

Hey Paul,

Buy an Airmagic Intercom from yourself and ditch the helmet...It works - no more misty visors.

Keep in touch mate.

Regards

Take a look at modern motorcycle helmet designs, particularly the race helmets. Arai, Shoei, Shark, and Dainese all have ventillations systems that don't allow the helmet to mist up. The Dianese has a thin plastic film with a seal that is spaced away from the visor (1mm) I rarely clean the inside and it has never misted up.
