What do you think will your family say if you have to pass away in a plane you were flying. (honest thoughts only)

I think mine will say it is sad but ok.

Nothing like a couple of million life insurance to chear the ol wife up :D :D

Speaking of which, guys make sure your life insurance covers for microlight flying

Get it in Writing from the insurer and make sure your softness is aware of this

If you need help - some nice insurance okes on the forum, would not want me to mention their names - So I wil only give a hint - His name starts with G and he is big

Hey Bennie. I dont think i have met you yet but it would be great to meet you someday. But seriously, you are starting to worry me. First with the "I love u guys" thing and now with this. My experiences with people that talk and think like this, dont hang around much longer. I HOPE TO GOD THIS IS NOT THE CASE HERE.

But you are still going to be stick with me for a long time to come.

I sometimes just like to think about the finer things of life and share it with some friends. This topic I wrote coz I'm sure we ( Pilots) all know how we feel about passing on whiles doing the sport we love to do, but how many of us relay know how our family and friends feel about it and does it even matter to us what they feel and in what circumstances we might leave them behind if we were to depart

I see that there is at least some one reading my postings. :D :D :D

A friend of mine passed away a few years back in a plane crash in Mozambique.

His folks had some problems getting insurers to pay, problem was:

1. He was working for a commercial flying outfit
2. He was doing his ppl,
3. He was out of the country

In the end it all came down to them having to prove he was not flying for a living and merely a passenger flying with a qualified pilot at the time (he was) i.e. Did he sit in the right hand seat or the left!!!

My Life insurance company did not have any objection to issue me with a letter to state that they would not have a problem paying out any existing policies that were taken out before I started flying. I just had to battle about six months before I got the letter. But I got it.

When I took an extra policy, they loaded the premiums with about R400.00 per month.

But rather that than nothing at all.

My Wife commented the other day that the difference that she sees in me when i have been flying is so great that she would be sad but she would know i would be living my dream. She would rather have me die happy then rotting on the couch.

It was one of my big concerns too. Told my broker and Discovery loaded me R400 odd per month. Broker told me it will be waived if I fly more than 100 hrs a year. Submitted me log book last year and voila. Bugger off, you fly Microlights - we will not drop the loading. Broker was embarrassed but I am covered.

As for the other half, with AXC in for her extreme make-over I have started to become a bit unhandle-able at home. Other half was SO relieved when I announced that I was to fly with DieselFan and Big D yesterday. All he could say was: "Thank GOD!" Now you can be normal again for a few days! Go enjoy yourself!
