Word has it that two of the nuts here actually cycled the Argus this past weekend.

Gr8-dad completed in about 5 hours =D*

Ranger, dragged himself out of bed with a hangover, had a smoke, started the race, stopped at the Brass Bell for a beer and slap chups wif tommorow sors, and a smoke, and finished in about 6 hours. =D*

Well done lads (^^)

I was one of the Grandad nuts who exercised his arse off during the year, travelled 1300 km down to CT and then woke up with a flu attack the morning of the race. Would have been my tenth one in my 60th year. DAMNDAMNDAMN

Did not even get to fly with anyone down in CT either. Quite an expensive, wasted weekend!!

I did it once - My heart rate hit 200bpm on Suikerbossie

Like revving a 582 at 8000rpm

Is a magic race though, awesome scenery and awesome half naked softness on bikes.....mmmm

Think I will start training for next year :D

I can now speak with experience and that is that is that I will never do the race.
One day if and when I live on the Malmesbury Aviation Estate I will fly the route.

I've done the Argus 3 times and this would have been best of the lot for me..... but was knocked out a week before the time with kidney stones ( as a result of de-hydration some where in my training programme! ) The joke is .... when I do my medical, the nurse that does the ecg kraps herself when the heart rate does not want to go up like she wants it to.... 3 minutes on a stationary bike .....

Turn up the resistance woman.... ($$) ($$) ($$)

20 minutes later...... ':- ':- ':-

Finally.... he has an increased pulse =D*

Oooooooh... jy is seker 'n fietsryer... ne? #-0

Hey guys.... do the cycle thing! Your medicals become a breeze! (^^)

I agree with Bacchus. Like skydiving out of a perfectly airworthy plane, why cycle it when you can drive it!
If you could've seen the 20-bike prang on Hospital Bend, it looked worse that any ML accident that I've seen................

Was at site meeting this morning when building contractor (fitness fanatic) walked in like he had just gone 10 rounds wiff Tyson. Broken choler bone, no skin on left leg, battered and bruised. Though he had fallen off scaffold and huge liability claim was on the way. Nope he went down to have quiet weekend in CT riding his Bike....

Having seen the "damage" first hand I think even crashing an aerie is safer. Now def Not for me
