This morning !!

Postby Low Level » Wed Feb 07, 2007 12:23 pm

Drove past Microland at 6:25 and saw someone in the air turning southbound with his trike and thought to myself - lucky bugger. :D Who was it? 10 minutes later I passed Petit and someone just got airbound with his trike (who is guilty?), and thought to myself - great morning for flying. 8)

I then did some low flying to Brakpan on me motorbike. :D

At 7:20 I joined the fortunate few in the air. What a feeling. :D :D

Slight crosswind - but handled it quite well for all of the circuits. Really are getting quite confident now 8) - until the last landing.  A gust of wind caught me about two seconds before touchdown. The gyro turned immediately in the wind and I almost landed sideways. :? Instructor had to save the day with quick footing.

Learned again today - landing is not completed until the aerie is in the hangar.

Did some low flying back to the salt mines to pay for my fun, :? but had enough time to think:

Millions of people are getting up and pray: Pleeeeeze this and pleeeeeze that ......

I just said: Thank you, what a life I have ! 8) :)

Blessed And Fortunate

Many BAD things happening in our country and aviation. But at the end of the day those of us who are involved in aviation are extremely blessed. We easily loose sight of this and have to be reminded constantly. Cannot agree more with your post!!!

Agreed! we really are priviledged.

When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return. (Leonardo da Vinci)

It only takes two things to fly...airspeed and money! :D
