Foot launched powered hanggliding

Postby mal » Thu Dec 14, 2006 1:59 pm

Hello fellow pilots and wind surfers,I am at the bottom of the powered food chain because I fly a powered harness on my hangie.(a wasp with a 120cc radner)and its the love of my life.(even beats radical wave skiing at PortShepstone) However I now reside in the UK where the scenery is always outstandingly beauitifull and the weather fickle.Winter is upon us with gray December skys, drizzle and winds above 20mph,not to mention too little airtime.Next month should be good though because the prevailing wind should if it reads the old news change to Northerlies and give us days of cold laminar winds of about 15mph.Good for soaring and powered flying. As it is the cold weather holds no fears when friends in SA tell me the temp is 31 deg inside and others say it is 48deg out.
The next Time I visit Pretoria I would like to fly those blue skys and breathe the scent of Africa again for a while, losing myself in the tranquility of gentle flying.

I thought you had to be mal to fly one of those things  Welcome to the forum Mal. Come down to Cape Town when the south-easter is blowing and you will not need a return ticket to the UK :P
