Maybe we should start a list of ways we think we can promote our sport?
OK, so I will start:-
1. Open Days at your airfield with flips
2. Invite your mates, co-workers and in fact anyone to fly with you

I used to organise a breakfast at the airfield for my employees and their families. Must have flown about 40 people to date. Many of them were scared to begin with, but I'm happy to say all of them said that they would fly again.
Most people seem scared of small planes, that is until they fly in one.

Why don’t they sell the Micro lighters Magazine to the Public?
Will bring some additional income, with exposure to the different clubs and suppliers.

It's all about marketing!!!
To see the microlight in a magazine sparks the imagination, to experience the freedom of flight secures new pilots to the sport.
Thus,
Open Days at your local airfield with flips!!

The main reason for this is to be able to seel a/c to new beginners so we can move up to more sofisticated erries.
Thats why.
Good one Bennie.
I do not hoard my old aviation mags in the closet, I put a business card to the front page and drop them off at the doctors rooms.

You cannot expect an industry to grow if you don't promote it. I have done a lot of free flips and some really paid off. A few months down the line we have created the need for a flight school and a means to get rid of our old a/craft

Amen Brothers, Amen
We create a market and we upgrade, flight schools blossom, demand is bigger and the whole industry becomes cheaper, but more profitable.
It can start with everyone of us putting our 2c worth together and a bit more of a comrade ship by the flight schools to start a members club that can put a bit of public awareness out there by placing national adds.
By the way, did any of the flight schools look into a franchising concept yet, it just might pay off.

Why would anyone want to do the (odd) hours just to hand over the cream to someone else strutting the golf course?

At my age I don't visit the doctor quite as often as you do

Can't AFRICAN SKIES MAG donate all their old surplus copies of the mag to some public places like airports, doctors rooms, insurance companies

and any place that they can get exposure for selling the magazine or to create an interest in the sport.
Else we have to declare 15 December as National Micro light day and make it a national holiday.

Been trying to 'convince' a couple for some years now, but there seems to be a fear of loosing clients/income/secrets etc. It is a tough environment to crack into. I still think there is merrit..... More the merrier. May not be possible, but def think it needs a look.
