hi guys, i've been dreaming about the day i would leave the cabbage patch and do some real flying, need some advise / sugestions from the more experienced weight shift pilots!
I want to fly from kuruman (faku) to Potchefstroom (FAPS) and then from Potchefstroom to Cirrcus Airfield (north of Henley-on-Klip.
this will be my first flight out of kuruman (except for xc during training) and it's a bit nerve recking but i need to do this - you guys will now the feeling!
I Fly a aquilla II 582. any suggestions, tips on what to do and not to do would be appreciated!

When you wanna do it? I am in Vryburg weekly. Happy to lend a hand with planning etc.. Have never donein trike, but well in 3 axis ML. Maybe i can fly formo back with you in the RV, or if the cubby is finised by then it would be better... (Am allergic to dawn takeoff, but will make xception)
Be careful of FAD75 at FAPS. It is active (I am told) and they get quiet grumpy if you fly through it.
FAPS now 123.00.
Routing through Jhb gen flying area 124.40, the grain silo's are a popular training spot and they guys use GAV for navex.
Beware of squall line usually just past potch if there is any WX. Often the wind changes in that aera for some reason.

rv4ker, i would like to leave on the 20th of december and maybe just fly to FAPS and then trailer to circus / fly to circus the following morning.
Was thinking of keeping to the road (i.e. kuruman, vryburg, delareyville, ottosdal, hartbeesfontein, klerksdorp, potch) or routing form kuruman directly to schweiser renecke - wolmaranstad - klerksdorp - potch?
reason for keeping close to the road is that i'll be able to land if the wx goes bad and trailor the rest of the way (wife will be on ground duty).
would be great if you could help me with the planning and maybe fly together but will i be able to keep up? RV vs Aquilla????
Where will you be flying to from vryburg?
I'll give you a pm a bit later on, thanks

I would also do it with a fly-buddy. Maybe not a PAX but definately another plane. It helps to have company plus another to help with the planning
