Speed So slow

Postby Tumbleweed » Thu Nov 09, 2006 12:03 pm

Is it only me? My connection speed on this site (and Avcom) is so slow ( 4 min just to sign in). Any page with pics can take over 10 minutes.

This has progressively slowed down over the last month. Often the "View since last dial - up' seems slower than opening other topics.

Seems faster if I don't sign in.

Have a (shared) 24 hr radio link, deleted all cookies, clear History after 2 days.

My connection to bank and other sites is - sort of reasonable and when I contact the service provider, he says the connection is acceptable.

Is there anything else I can do?

Seldom able to post or respond to a topic and missed out on DH's book offer

My pc's name is 'Pisashit' Don't know if that helps.

Hi Delta VV maybe your machine can do with a bit more Ram, or your download speed could also be a problem. From your comment i would say download speed as the pic's etc get more and more the download will go slower that is why it is so fast when you are not logged in as you are not downloading all the pic's etc.

go to www.myadsl.co.za there are a few speed tests you can do there to test your bandwidth.

Pretty sure your service provider is not telling you the whole truth  It happens to me from time to time during the "busier" times of e-trafficking in the day, ok later on. :P
