Drifter
Drifter
Hello y'all,
New to the forum from outer space. Me, I'm a frustrated PPL looking for a new outlet for this flying itch. I live in Joburg and am looking for an aerie.
Anyone have a Drifter (once built by Maxair) for sale, or know of someone who does?
Looking forward in anticipation. :D
cheers

Very interesting. Looks very similar to the dragon fly that FF and Lamercyfly built recently

Hey Morph,
Ja, I like the look of the Dragonfly, but man, oh, man that's a sloooooooow beastie. I want to be able to go places every now and then :D
The Drifter's going back into production (on demand) with Phil Lockwood in the US, but the way the $/rand's going, eish ...
Maybe a Cubby, then. Siggggghhhhhhh.

Thanks for the info and welcome, gentlemen.
Drifter (or Dragonfly) still rule, though. Have a long-term aerial photography project about to go (yes, there will be a second pilot at all times
) so really like the unobtructed views.
Trike not a bad idea but am biased, I guess, in favour of three-axis. Too many years in bliks, I guess.
Thanks and cheers

Yep. About One Bar ($86 000 for the kit, incl. 2 912 Rattexes). That was the last price I saw. But it's going back into production next year at Lockwood Aviation. Probably cost much much much more.RV4ker wrote:Am told the Aerocam / aircam (912 rattex twin pusher) is the ultimate camera ship, but it huge buck$$$$

See more info at website: http://aircam2.tripod.com/ With full fuel this airplane has an endurance of 5 hours. This airplane, 123 BP, has crossed the country, pacific ocean to atlantic ocean, three times. Its an incredible airplane. This aircam, tail number 123BP, is one of the best-equipped aircams built. This airplane has a great history as documented on the main aircam support group website: http://www.aircamsite.com/newpage4.htm http://www.aircamsite.com/new_page_17.htm http://www.aircamsite.com/electric.htm Total time on engines and airframe: 330 hrs.
