One of three South Africans in a helicopter that crashlanded in a built-up area of Sao Paolo, Brazil, is in a critical condition. Sao Paolo - Three South Africans were among four passengers in a helicopter that crashlanded in a built-up area of Sao Paolo, Brazil, on Sunday.
"All survived the emergency landing," said foreign Affairs spokesman Ronnie Mamoepa in Pretoria on Monday.

He said one of the three injured South Africans was in a critical condition in a Sao Paolo hospital.

"Two South African diplomats have visited the two lesser injured South Africans, who were in a stable condition," said Mamoepa.

According to the SA consulate in Brazil the three South Africans aboard the helicopter were Richard Henry, Israel Bloomberg and Herman Poilmann.

Mamoepa said foreign affairs officials had been in contact with the families of the three injured men in South Africa.

The Brazilian pilot and a child of 13 were not injured, according to a Brazilian news report.

The helicopter apparently was returning from the Brazilian Grand Prix at Interlagos when the aircraft had a malfunction and hit a building before crashing.
