Morningstar development?

I stopped at Morningstar while taking my son for a "make him fall asleep" drive.
Lots of development and building action there! Who's paying for new roads/taxiways/access to hangers? Has the land been purchased by someone? (As far as I'm aware it's state land leased leased to microligth club)

One of our (the!) founding members has put A LOT of effort in recently with Taxiways, etc and also constructed the Runway - he has the Gumption and is a very dedicated to the cause here- thank
goodness(edited by Morph due to complaint)! ... unlike some
WCMC helped to pay for the runway and will aso soon start to build the new club house
WCMC leases, no one can own the property

Groundfish,
If you are taking you kids on a "make him fall asleep drive" why don't you pop in to Morning Star and say hello
As Junkie has said, all the work going on at MS is under the auspices of the Western Cape Microlight Club. MS is a WCMC field and will soon be home to the new club house, thanks in a great part to the work done by not only the committee but Charl Starke.

OK so when I'm next there, I'll just walk around asking who knows where Morph is... they'll lock me up in the looney bin. PM me with your name. Or maby I'll just look for AUK?
Are they not afraid the lease will be terminated at some point in the future?

I'm in the large hangar that has the big glass windows above the door. Ask for Greg or look for AUK

Morph, I did a low level circuit over MS yesterday at about 12pm but saw no cars/planes outside your "glass cockpit" hanger.
If I'm over there again and see you I'll land and say howzit!
By the way I think you hanger and think it really cool and practical use of all that roof space! Did you do that as part of the original construction or as a modification?

Is the flying field in Contermans kloof, near MUCH Asphalt not on Charl Starke's land?

The Hangar belongs to Stephan Moser. He has a rudimentory but very function living space in the upper level. The windows are actually sliding door. We often sit up there, drinking coffee, doors open and watch the planes.
Conties is on land owned wholly or partly by the Starke family. The land has been on the market for a while which is why most are relocating to Morning Star, which will include the Clubhouse
I was up in Citrusdal, Clanwilliam, Loeriesfontein, Nooitgedacht and back to CT this weekend. I went with GR8-dad to go fetch his Bush Baby from Boet.
Sorry I missed you

So is the Contis field going to be shut down then?
What's the approach into RWY 20 as MS like? I've never landed there, and wondered if you could give some pointers.
Is the approach bumby with those trees, i.e. windshear, or does it calm down once you're below the treeline. Would I be allowed to land a Cessna there for a quick cuppa/visit?
What's CCT altitude?
